On a dreary, gray day, I was unmotivated to look for points of interest beyond my front door, so here's where I stopped. We never open that door on the right, so when I attempted to do so for a picture, I found it would go no further than that. Being an old house, there's one entrance into a foyer, and a couple more steps up to the entry door.
I have Steve Harvey to thank for some aperature information he gave me http://365project.org/harvey/365/2010-07-28. Not in a hurry today, I discovered how I could bring the outside view into sharp focus with good color. I'm still on a learning curve with my camera and appreciate all the help I can get!
Looking forward to a beautiful day again tomorrow, but tonight, as I write, I'm listening to the fog horn in the distance.
Rick, yes, that's the United Church across the park from our house. We're on a bit of a hill, and the park slopes down to the church and on down to the waterfront. You get a good walk in around this town!
Hi Louise! Thanks for checking in. I really enjoy all your Lunenburg photos. This shot is great! The one about the postcards from Helsinki is so funny too. I am glad to hear Maia is following you. I am amazed and impressed that you figured out she is my niece. I have another niece on too - she is in that same group photo. She has had computer trouble and has not uploaded for a month. When she gets back on, I'll point her out - if you haven't found her already. :-)
I love how you framed this shot of your entry way and your view. I don't blame you for not wanting to venture out. A nice relaxing day at home is always a good call!
I love the liminality and perspective of this shot! It's refreshing! great photo! and thank you for your wonderful comments on my photo. I really appreciate them! :D
i would just love to tour your house! i love older houses for all their charm and character! and this is a lovely shot! the stained glass above the door must be quite valuable! and what a view you have from your front porch, uh?
Everything aboutLunenburg just seems wonderful, like your home & the beautiful view outside your front door, with the distant sounds of foghorns. Still no photos from me, may have to fall back to the phone! : )
Love that picture and just think, we'd never have seen it if it hadn't been for the rain! And with the rain the dust settles and the plants grow.... Mind you.... it is pouring wet here today and I've lots of driving and lots of visits to do.... not great day for that. We get a bit too much rain!
Is sunshine already getting rare? Are we heading for fall already? Actually I am not ready. What about you?
In our place it is changing between rain and sunshine several times a day. And the sun has already lost some of its power.
What a treat not only to see this amzing looking door ..love the stain glass on top...but look right through it to see the United Church across the street. good thing in disguise that it wasn't such a nice day, so you had to look for something to post from""""indoors"""" and what better than the front entrance door.
I love your view. This is also an amazing idea. I never thought of this...but everyone's view from his/her front door is so different and unique. I think that would be interesting to see and compare/contrast. Cool idea! So, being stuck inside wasn't really a bad thing, then.
How wonderful to open a door and get such a lovely view. You framed this shot to create such interest in the inside and well as the outside. Nice work.
Lovely framing, Louise! It's been ranining on and off here as well... and thundering...and storming. Blue skies tomorrow...? Maybe? Wishing you a wonderful weekend! :-)
Thank you for you kind words on my project
