As requested, the rain went away, and today was idyllic. We've begun to take our walks on this country lane, passing Mica, the horse & Echo, the chocolate lab, both who come to greet us. We stopped to visit with the owner, and, interested that I had my camera, she mentioned that people had been taking pictures of her barn the other day for Photowalk. (I wonder if they live here or came to town for the photo opportunities).
I baked a dessert this afternoon to take to dinner. Had another of those wonderful meals that David makes and spent the evening watching the 1946 movie, "Blue Skies"...no story line, but lots of good song & dance numbers. I love days that unfold like this...it was a good one!
Seeing this photo makes me want to go for a nice long walk. Looks like your weather was perfect for a nice long walk today! Today was the perfect day for a walk here too, but alas, my friend is back in the hospital so that's were I have been all week...but I know he would do the same thing for me should I be in his position. That's just what friends do ;-)
this is such a serene photo Louise! I really like this. This seems like a really lovely trail to walk and travel on. :)
Thank you for your comment as well! I always appreciate it.
I love all the green in this shot. There is something relaxing about pathway photos such as this one. I am glad the weather has cleared up, and it sounds like you were able to make the most of the day!
Sounds like an idylic day. I love the lush vegetation in your picture. Hooray for blue skies! Thank you for your comments on my page I'll try & get some sea views for you.
I love those kinds of walks. I used to drive out to Trafalgar, find an old logging road, park the car and just walk. Great shot as always. I love seeing pictures of home that don't always include water :)
It sure looks like your place is made for photo opportunities, Louise. Another beautiful shot. Nova Scotia, right? The one province I missed while living up in Canada. :(
Yes today was a perfect day for outdoor activities and walking is one of my favorites. we went up north to visit friends at their cottage and later on our way home we took a detour to go to Gravenhurst, Ontario..where they just recently build a new boardwalk along the waterfront. The Muskoka area is full of large rocks rocks and the city of Gravenhurst incorporated the area by the boardwalk with these rocky hills where we once climbed up found wonderfull hiking trails. so you see we enjoyed a full day outdoors. close to home we picked up a submarine for our dinner. who wants to spoil the finale with having to cook.
Sounds like a wonderful day... and this looks like such a lovely place for a walk!!
p.s. If you ever do get the chance to visit Newport, RI to see the mansions you have GOT to see The Breakers :) I want to go back and see all of them now though, hehe. If you become a member of the preservation society there its so much cheaper than just paying for each house you visit.
I've finally returned to 365 and hope to go back to posting regularly. The last two months were quite hectic as I moved to my parents' house, went back to DC to continue working while living with friends, then finished up with work and actually moved home. There just wasn't any time or space or energy left to continue taking and posting photos, so I took a little unplanned hiatus from the project. I'm sad that I missed so much time, but will continue now rather than abandoning it altogether.
I did upload the photos that I took along the way, though you'll see there are few and far between.
Hope to start catching up with you and everyone else again!
What a gorgeous place to go for a walk, and it looks like you had perfect weather. Dinner and the movie sound like a nice way to round out a beautiful day.
Not only is the summer moving by so fast, but so is the 365 project. And how quickly I fall behind. If I'm keeping up with everyone's photos, then I'm falling behind somewhere else. But I'm preaching to the choir.
Beautiful shot...stirs memories of wonderful scenic strolls from days gone by. I think I need one again soon. :)

I’ve been singing this song lately! I have not seen that film. I’ll put it on my list. :)
By the way, LOVE the photo…It really speaks to me…brings back memories of simpler times…inspires me! Fave! …and I’m wondering what you made for dessert, but I won’t ask because you need to spend more time on walks like this than typing on the computer.
Love those country lanes. My brother in Connecticut lives on a narrow winding road through the woods and it is really a different world from my home. I guess you must have a similar experience when you spend your summers in NS.
Louise, thank you so much for your sweet comment on our house slideshow!! Jeremy really worked hard to get it all done in between jobs, and I am in love with the end result!!! The house definitely went a long way, and I am glad I documented the whole process! I'll make sure Jeremy reads what you wrote - you are so kind and sweet, as always!! :-))
I came to comment here, all the way back at the end of July, so nobody understood out little secret. It took me a while to figure out how to post a photo to the threads, but now that I know, it's really easy. First, choose the picture you want to post from your 365 album. Once you are on it, find the "share" box (underneath the photo and to the right), below the "tags" Click on the long code under it (in the little box) - it will turn blue. Once it's marked, right click on it and choose copy. This done, go to the thread where you want to post the image, and paste the link in the reply box. Once you hit 'submit' it will post in the thread and show the photo. I hope my instructions are clear enough to follow. If you are having hard time, just leave me a comment on an older photo or write me at slavabowman@yahoo.com ;-) Good night, dear friend!! Kisses to Dill! ;-))
P.S. My sister-in-law printed the photo on canvas for my birthday - it's actually my photo for today. I was overwhelmed with joy when I saw it!
