We saw our friends off today to continue their vacation on the east coast and the house is empty again. We went out for a late morning walk, and Mica came trotting right over to us, an old friend now! Of the photos I took, this with Billy turned out best for the day.
For those of you who've enjoyed the visits with Dill this summer, perhaps you'll send up a little prayer for him as he undergoes a surgery Tuesday. He has an old "war wound" in the form of a small black scar on his lower eyelid that never healed properly, http://365daysintheyear.shutterfly.com/3181 and out of concern that it could be turning cancerous, it's being removed. (It's more complicated than the Photoshop removal I performed when he posed with the owl...) I've worked for two vets in years past, but never assisted with this sort of surgery. (Makes me queasy to think about it!) We've been told he'll be healed in about 10 days, but of course I hate that he has to go through this at all. Just sharing here because I thought some of you would care to know.
mica's back!! this is a wonderful shot--i love how it looks like they are having a conversation, eye to eye. super!!
and poor dill--i'll be praying that all is well and that he heals very quickly. i know you'll keep us posted.
I hope Dill will be fine again with in no time. Do you know how old he is? Because the older they are the harder it is to deal with the anaesthesia. Well, my fingers are crossed.
It really does look like Mica and Billy are having a conversation. Great capture! I will certainly keep Dill in my thoughts for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.
Awww! Lovely picture of Billy and Mica....but so sorry to hear about Dill's surgery!
As a recent fellow traveler in the surgical realm ;-) Dill has my sympathies, and all of my prayers, positive thoughts, and good wishes!
Ah...Louise, it is 2:30am here.
It's so hard to turn away, sometimes! ;-)
I'll say Good Night to your Good Morning! XO
What a nice picture!
I do hope Dill will be all right, it's always such a worry when they have to undergo tings like this. I will be thinking of him and you!
I love horses and dogs and this is an excellent photo that shows the typical encounter of a lot of horses in this country with neighbors, friends and owners.
Very handsome photo. I'll be praying for Dill to have a successful surgery, a quick recovery, and that he might return with a sweeter disposition. :) Onion alert today.
Great shot! I love how they are looking at each other like that. Poor Dill! I will be sending positive thoughts his way for sure. Please keep us updated! He is definitely a favorite among all of the 365 kitties.
I saw your note on my sucker pic -- yes indeed, Chimom has returned! ;-D
Wishing Dill a speedy recovery! He looks so handsome, evern though a bit worn out from the surgery! Sorry i haven't visited in a while -it's hard to catch up these days! I enjoyed your wonderful photos and experiences - Lunenburg seems to be such a lively place! :-)
Ah, okay, I see your post now. Bad me, I missed this photo. White cats have difficulties with scarring and healing...and sun too. Sometimes sunblocking the tips of ears is recommended if he's outside all the time (I used to be a veterinary technician for many, many years before kids!)
