Now that I've cracked the code for making collages (or "photo montages" if you will...) well, I can share a bit more of a good day! It all went as planned... Breakfast with friends... Blueberry picking with Billy and David, and we brought home 18-pounds of luscious goodness... Stopped for ice cream cones in Mahone Bay and visited more people we all know... Meandered home along the coast, to get another photo of "The Little Red Schoolhouse"... Arrived home and Dill was there to greet us, and we sat in the living room and listened to the bandstand concert in the park.
With all those blueberries and summer's end close at hand, a Sunday supper with B&D was the nicest way to bring this day to a close. The menu included those blueberry pancakes again! When I get a new recipe, I often get into a rut!
Just one more thought I want to share... I realize my "red" photo isn't in contention because it's in a collage, but I take my pictures primarily to record my day and share with you, my "365 friends". I'm puzzled by some of the thread discussions and the need to somehow "be a winner". I'm content with my life and your inclusion in it always makes me happy. Thank you, each of you, when you spend a minute here. I love when I can see your photography & reciprocate comments. Just sharing in this community made me feel like a winner long ago!
I love your photos and your stories! And you always look so full of JOY - not just happy, but truly JOYFUL!! Its a pleaseure following you on this site :)
What a fantastic red, white and blue montage. I love all three pictures but of course my favorite is the center shot of Dill. I love how he's looking up at you so expectantly! Sounds like another fun day for you. Those blueberry pancakes sounds delicious! I don't blame you at all for wanting to have them again.
What does one do with 18 pounds of blueberries? Hope you're freezing some of them. Maybe blueberry preserves, blueberry pie, or even a blueberry martini or dacquiri?
Mmm... blueberry pancakes. :) We've been on a pancake kick around here due to my son's obsession with the Eric Carle book 'Pancakes Pancakes'. :) Thanks for continuing to share with us!!
oh, i love that little red schoolhouse! and that blueberry 'field' looks like a wonderful place to spend some time--and come home with treasure!! also, well-said regarding the 'winning' discussions. i love creating my project for myself and my family, and the sharing of our lives together here on 365 is an absolute bonus--the icing on the cake!! so glad to share it with you, my friend!! (:
and thank you for the 'birthday twin' link--that was so fun to see, and such a miraculous story! i think it is so fun that so many of us have sparked an interest in photography and 365 in our young ones! the only thing my birthday boy has asked for is his own camera and his own 365 project!! (shhhh, don't tell, but he's getting his wish!!) his actual birthday is tomorrow, and i can't wait to surprise him!!
Nice collage Louise, three great photos. The schoolhouse relly shouts charm. Dill looks like he knows where he belongs, and the blueberries, my, what an abundant crop. Do you also make blueberry jam?
so glad kerri caught the red flowers, white dill, and blue berries too! that's the first thing that popped out at me! i too enjoy your daily posts. isn't it amazing how familiar we all become thru this! whatever will dill do when the summer is over??
I love the concept here in your collage. It's quite fascinating and I really do adore it.
And speaking of adore, I must admit that I really do adore your photos. Even if you're not looking to win anything, I find it lovely that you're still a winner and that's awesome. I love the simplicity of your photos and how they are here to share your life!
Again lovely collage. :D
Another perfect day in Lunenburg!
I like your collage - captured your day puurrrrrrrfectly :D
There is so much colour in your photos.
I love the one of Dill looking up at you- so nice!
your shots always tell such great stories Louise....and you are a fantastic storyteller yourself! Love reading your commentaries and seeing your smiling face! so sweet! :)
Very clever! Great collage. It is funny that your picture has blueberries in it because I just got back from the store and bought some chocolate covered blueberries. Coincidence?........naaa!
I enjoy reading your stories of your day to day life. My life literally consists of working and coming home. Not much of anything else. So I take photos of things I like, not necessarily depicting my day. But I love that you do that with yours. It makes for interesting reads everyday with your stories behind all the photos. And you always sound and look so happy.
I love this collage. What a great set of photos. And you know I love seeing Dill in there.
Love this collage - I went to a one room school house in rural PA many moons ago! Winning is getting up every morning and seeing something in a different light to share on 365; winning is sometimes just getting up in the morning! Thanks for your comments and your link for the "Birthday Twins".
What a great way to start ending the summer. Picking blueberries. I can taste the pancakes by looking at your photo. Nice way to end the weekend. Looking forward to more daily adventures. Thanks for the nice comments you leave.
sounds like a nice day! i think i am in love with dill - so cute!
thanks for sharing your day with us, it is almost like we are there with you and having a great time as well :)
Louise, I love your sweet stories and insightful commentary on anything & everything. I love these shots and your adorable title for your collage : ) Just wonderful. It makes me feel like Labor Day is right around the corner (still can't believe it - where did this summer go?)
Thanks for sharing your photos, your stories and YOU - always!
I wouldn't mind being in a blueberry pancake rut! Love the collage. Love the commentary. Great to have these windows into your life and collage is a terrific way of opening it a little wider.
I love the collage and the title! The funny thing is, our flag is also 'red, white and blue'!!!!! I forgot about the time difference between our countries and was surprised to see you had already had your blueberry picking adventure, when I wasn't even done with breakfast!!! ;-)))
I took some nice pictures over the weekend, but my big computer (where I do the photos on) decided to give up on me, so I could not upload any just yet...Hopefully when I get home tonight it will be all better.(I always hope technology will repair itself if I don't use it for awhile, sometimes that actually works!)
I made this a fav. I love the composition, the colors, the view of Dill bisecting your collage, your reporting on your day and even more important, I'm throwing in my lot with your philosophy that just being here and sharing the vision of all these wonderful 365-ers is the ultimate prize. You always know how to get to the heart of things.
Your collage is beautiful, Louise. :) I love your attitude concerning this site... it's not a competition, it's a place to share stories, share photos (or "art") and share kind comments-- which I thank you for, you're so sweet. :)
I love this collage! It's always so wonderful to see "The Dill Man" in a photo! Oh and I haven't had pancakes yet but I cheated and bought the mix this weekend...lol. I'll splurge and add milk instead of water...lol.
I can never decide on collages for myself - sometimes I like being able to include multiple pictures but then later I often wish I'd just picked one strong picture - lol sometimes I think I'm taking this 365 thing a bit too seriously!
You're the winner for the collage Louise! This is beautiful and what you wrote is lovely. Thanks for your nice words and comments on other pictures too. It's a pleasure to look at all your pictures and I'm in love with Dill :)
Thank you for your reflection on what is important to you. It shines through every picture. This is a lovely collage becasue it tells a story - even without having to read the story (which I always enjoy!)
Great collage, wow those blueberries look great! I agree with you about the competitions, for me it's a bit of fun and focus and I just enjoy using the site!
I think it's great how people interret this project on your own. I'm very competitive and often think, urghhh why am I not a 'winner'! But then I look at my photos, see which ones I'm pleased with, look at the fantastic, encouraging comments that people have given me and feel good again! To me it's a lot of fun, my photos don't always sum up my day, but I always take one every day :)
I am so happy to see your cool collage. It does make it easier to share all the happenings from your day in one format! great title, and great photos! I love sharing with you and others on this site.
thanks for the lovely words about my photo....and about what i'm going through, louise. just logging in this site makes me realize even more how truly blessed i am. thanks again =)
Nice record of your day Louise, aren't fresh blueberries the absolute best. Still having them on my breakfast cereal every morning. I love the bright colors that fill your days, and the cool white of Dill moving through them as a contrast. smile.
How wonderful, Louise!! I enjoy your collages!! It's always a pleasure to see your smile and Dill's cute face! Thank you so much for your comments! I am sure you would have enjoyed the festival! It's my favorite thing to do every year! It's organized by the International Institute and its held usually the last weekend of August in Tower Grove Park in Saint Louis. This year the festival was especially big - it included food booths from 35 countires, the same amount of gift booths, four stages with music and dancing from all over the world, and lots of arts and crafts activities. There even was a Bulgarian dance group performing! The crowd the festival attracts is amazing, and everybody is so happy and friendly! I managed to take a lot of candid photos, and we enjoyed some wonderful performances. I didn't want to leave and I got a little homesick, but I think I am over it now.., I miss the street culture in Bulgaria, having coffee on the street, walking with lots of people around, and the European style of life... Now I am looking forward to the Hot Air Ballon Festival in Forest Park! Learning to make the most of whereever I am at! ;-)
Louise...my goodness, you need to have your own 365 fan club on facebook! If you invited us all to your lovely land of summer, we would exceed the capacity of the island! So love your life and your heart!
i most of the time tag my photos for the challenges. i especially do it if one of my friends happens to host a challenge and there are only a handful of entries, because it is people's nature to join in when there's more, not when there's less. then i put a tag that says "do not choose my photo" or if it makes the voting, "do not vote for this photo". 365 is my happy place and like you, i just want to share what i have captured. i don't like to compete, especially that i know there are others who are a lot better at photography than myself. i just want to be with my 365 friends and share. and i miss your smile, ma dahling!
@summerfield It's such fun to slip behind the curtain once in awhile and share a note or two! I glanced just at the two names above your comment and wonder what they've gone on to do... Though I know things will slow down in a few days, we got home and immediately Ash arrived with the boys. I've had a couple dr appts and two parties, wrapped presents for those and wonder when I'll get unpacked (still!) For the moment, all organization is out the window, but I may post a couple quick photos just to let folks know we're back home. ...or as one friend put it, are you "home", or "away from home" now? We're certainly in a happy place in NS! Out here, beautiful and all that but TOO MANY PEOPLE & CARS!!! Crazy making! Prepare yourself for many photos from my back yard! Merry Christmas!!! xo, ♥

(What's the difference between a collage and a photo montage?)
thanks for sharing your day with us, it is almost like we are there with you and having a great time as well :)

Add the blueberries frozen. They are less likely to burst when cooking.

Even though you know I don't like cats, I really like this collage. It's so you. :D
Cute title. Always love to see Dill. You were very busy picking all those blueberries!
Great collage. The last photo of you is a great one!
