As our last week is winding down, the activity level is stepping up (if it can possibly get busier than it has been!) Tonight was a neighbourhood dinner party hosted by our immediate back-door neighbours, Brad and Wilma at the back left. They live in Halifax, but spend every weekend in town refurbishing their 1800s home where they plan to retire one day. The party tonight was to see us off, but two of the other couples leave town in the winter, too, so it was an end-of-the-season party for us all. We'll keep in touch by email, send photos and look forward to beginning where we left off late next spring. We couldn't ask for better neighbours, all of us CFAs from elsewhere in Canada & the US, now sharing the block here in Lunenburg. I could write volumes about their warmth, artistic abilities, culinary talents, charisma, sense of humor, helpfulness and thoughtfulness...maybe I ought to write a book ;-)
You've all been so unbelievably kind in the many messages you've left me, I just want you to know I'm touched (an in no small part still amazed that I've somehow garnered attention). The words to thank you appropriately escape me, and it's my loss that I have so little time to enjoy more of your photos and reciprocate the way I should. Just know that tonight with my friends was a delight in that they know about my involvement in 365 and were happy to assemble for our group photo. They're terrific neighbors; you'd love them!
You ought to be able to do about a chapter a week and have that book done by springtime next year! We'll be waiting! Your neighbors look like they've had a great evening. Time with good friends - just a little bit of heaven on earth!
Nice photo Louise and it sounds like you have all nurtured some great relationships. It sounded like a grand party, and it looks as though you had a beautiful day to spend the time together.
YES! yes indeed, you SHOULD write a book!! just for the record, i've edited a book for publishing...just a thought! (:
and this is a wonderful photo of your lunenburg 'family'. i know they will miss you so! i find myself feeling that bittersweet feeling for you that always comes with change; i'm so glad that it's just for a season!
Such a lovely photo!
We understand about not answering everyone - it's impossible.
I'll miss your Dill photos the most and of course the lovely Lunenburg countryside you so generously shared with all of us along the way.
Please include a farewell photo of Dill :D
I agree with Lois, please take one final farewell shot of Dill for us! And about that book.... You have already written it...one page per day on your 365 project. And I have loved reading it!
Group of smily and lovely people, very nice. And few familiar faces too. I like this. Please, one more photo of lovely Dill:) Hope you enjoy the rest of the days in Lunenburg. Have fun and please say my best wishes to David and Billy. And Dill.
Yep, I'd purchase that book. I feel like I live there too. Just so you know, it has indeed been added to my "bucket list'' to visit that beautiful, friendly town! I love the way it appears everyone "matches" in this...all the blues, your purple...really all blends so well. You know, Louise, you are a lovely woman. I can't help but love pretty people , LOL Though, that is not why I think you rock...I could write a book on that...just sayin'. I have a great mom, but do you think you could adopt me as a niece or something? Please, and thanks! :D
You have a way of expressing yourself in words and pictures... just very warm and friendly and caring. I notice that you take time to write comments (more than just a few words) on many, many people's photos and I wonder how you do it. You are an angel right here on earth. This picture is great - I love the stairs being your background and a graduated pedestal for all of you. Great composition. You should frame this one and give it to all of the neighbors for Christmas! :-)
I would love to read that book, Louise :)
It's great to see what wonderful friendships have been built - I don't know many people who actually know their neighbours' names, much less befriend them. Beautiful, warm shot, filled with love :)
It would definately become a bestseller!! I´d buy it for sure! I love reading your 365´book´ so much already!
And what a nice picture once more, everybody looks so happy to be there! What a great group of neighbors and friends. It must make the goodbye easier knowing you will all return there for more summer adventures next year. Enjoy your last days there, and do grant us another Dill picture, please! ;-)
wonderful gathering of good friends .. they all look grand & i bet all have some great storys and memorys of your time with them ..
" Lunenburg, my illustrated Adventures ".. i can see it in the bookstores Louise .. (o;
It's wonderful that you have such a fun group of neighbors, and I'm sure it's always tough for everyone to go their separate ways at the end of the summer. But it's nice that you all keep in touch, and of course you can look forward to the spring when you'll all be together again! Thanks for sharing your wonderful friends with us!
I agree with Gayle ... you've written that book, one page at a time! Tonight's entry made me think about my parents, as they are "winter Texans." I think that the relationships they have there fill their lives. They end up visiting their winter neighbors all summer long, all over the country!
I would love nothing more than to be your neighbor. Where's Dill? Is he off sulking because he heard you are leaving?
A book - definately. A large coffee-table book with lots of photos accompanied by your wonderful back stories of each one. Just let us know when it's finished - you have a built-in purchasing audience with your 365ers.
hello there :) arent friends great. im sure you are very sad to leave them but you still have all you 365 friends. well i am now back at school...im glad and sad to be back at school. i so glad to be back because i get to see all my friends all the time now. im sad because of course i have school work to do now and that i cant see my family all the time. i guess you can tell that i am having a hard time keeping up with my project but i am trying real hard. theres just more work in my sophmore year of college than there was during my freshman year. well i hope you have a great last week with your friends!
Lovely good bye photo of your friends and neighbors. I have been reading your book daily and have loved the photos. All you really need to do is publish it!! Take Care and have a fun fall.
You should write a book, definitely! What a nice group shot. It is hard to imagine things getting even busier for you... you already seem to have such full days!
By the way, your comment on my spider picture made me laugh. I love how you referred to 5:00am as "the middle of the night"! Although that was earlier than I normally get up on the weekends, I am out of bed before 5am most days of the week! You make me want to retire tomorrow.... although I don't think that's gonna happen.... :)
Haha! I just asked you to promise to write a book in my last comment. I think it's a fabulous idea!
Looks like a wonderful bunch of neighbors & friends! And you look just gorgeous in purple Louise ; )
What an awesome photo of all of you!! Definitely would read your book if you write one! Of course I would need a signed copy :-).
I think you should be out enjoying as much of your last days and nights as you possibly can and I think everyone understands that. I'm sad that you have to go back home too but I think I've said it before, I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures from CA too!
How wonderful that you had a neighbourhood party! ;-) I think you should write a book! You have so many stories and adventures to tell, it will be a lovely read! I made the blueberry muffins yesterday - they were divine! I ate so many, that I completely skipped dinner! Thank you again for sharing Barbara's wonderful recipe! ;-)
and this is a wonderful photo of your lunenburg 'family'. i know they will miss you so! i find myself feeling that bittersweet feeling for you that always comes with change; i'm so glad that it's just for a season!
lovely remembrance of a great summer and wonderful friends :)

Have a fabulous last few days!!
Its great to have friends and neighbours that you can share your Summer with. Too many people live without community nowadays
