Setting the Record Straight! by Weezilou

Setting the Record Straight!

What a surprise I got when I read your comments this morning! I seemed to have inadvertently failed to say yesterday's picture was of both my daughters, leading to some confusion. Yes, for a number of years now, Heather and I have been told how much we look alike, but it isn't until I look at pictures of myself at her age that I can see it, too. Since I came in late to try to rectify my oversight, I asked Heather if she wouldn't share a picture with me today. (We're at her store, "Green Genes", a baby and children's boutique in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago.)

We spent the morning with Ashley and the afternoon through evening with Heather...I love visiting my girls! I also am enjoying the foods I missed while in Canada, sushi at lunchtime, and sloppy tacos for dinner! We got a chatty email from David, letting us down gently that Dill seems to have accepted that we've left town and are no longer available at the purple house. Actually, I wouldn't want it any other way.
Wow twins! ;-D You both look so similar and gorgeous. It must be wonderful to be with your two daughters again at last. I hope you enjoy your stay in the big city. I seem to be first to comment, the magicof time differences!

Yeah! twins! :) how fun! ;)
September 17th, 2010
How funny! You both do look very much alike! A great photo to help clear up any confusion! Glad you are enjoying time with the family...as well as the cuisine!
September 17th, 2010
lovely family picture!
September 17th, 2010
Smily twins. Very sweet photo.
September 17th, 2010
....also good to hear that little Dill has adapted quickly to your absence
September 17th, 2010
My goodness you must be up very late! I mostly get a chance to do the project early mornings or late evenings, before & after the kids are around! Hope you get some rest for another big day in Chicago. Baby day is so near!
September 17th, 2010
Love this! When Mac had long hair we used to hear 'Oh my gosh your daughter looks so much like you!' all the time...thankfully he never minded. The resemblance is still there now but you have to look past his adams apple and all the other testosterone fueled features a 16 yr old man child has :)
September 17th, 2010
Wow! You two look so alike! I thought that was you in the photo yesterday as well.
September 17th, 2010
You two do resemble each other. How beautiful you both are. Tell Heather to have a great time in Seattle when she comes. Hopefully we will have great weather.
September 17th, 2010
Oh I love the picture, so cute! You're both beautiful! I do love the coast and you're welcome to visit anytime. Actually I think our next project will be a bed and breakfast or at least a one bedroom suite used for all our visitors. Thanks for your lovely comments they always make me smile! :)
September 17th, 2010
That's a fun shot and you really do look alike. Looks like an interesting shop as well.

HC
You DO look a lot alike! :)
September 17th, 2010
ooh I miss my chicago sushi!!!! Enjoy it. :)
September 17th, 2010
More than the physical resemblance, I have more a sense of the positive energies you both radiate. That sounds really granola even for an earthy guy like me, but I mean it. :) I'll be in Chicago for a work thang in a few weeks so I may have to check out the shop if I get a spare moment.
September 17th, 2010
Fascinating to see you and Heather side by side, you both look wonderful. i expect your daughters sales will go up soon ! all those lovely baby clothes . Glad to hear Dill is ok.
September 17th, 2010

You look more like sisters!
September 17th, 2010
This is TOO cute! No wonder we were all so confused! (And, glad to hear that Dill is adjusting!)
September 17th, 2010
You could have fooled me. she is the spitting image of you. I hope she is proud of it. my daughter for the longest time didn't like to be reminder that the resembles me..this is when she was much younger..now she just smiles when someone mentions it. great to know that Dill is ok..that's the only way I would have wanted it too.
September 17th, 2010
Oh, you are too sneaky! Yes, I was fooled, but I remember thinking to myself "Louise has her hair brushed off her face. She looks cute!" I had an inkling but ignored my inner voice! Good show :o) And, you are both darling :o)))))
September 17th, 2010
How sweet - you two look very much alike. From her career and color choices, I'll bet she has a similar personality. Love the idea of her store, too! Glad Dill's okay.
September 17th, 2010
so cute, and you do look an awful lot alike. How lucky that one daughter is pregnant and another daughter owns a children's clothing store :)
September 17th, 2010
You two really do look a lot alike! Her store is just adorable! It's great that you're getting to spend this time with your daughters and take advantage of the city for all the foods you were missing. I'm glad to hear Dill has settled into life without you guys, but I'm sure he still misses you.
September 17th, 2010

September 17th, 2010
Andersonville. I have seen that on one of the HGTV shows. LOL....and I know someone who used to live there years ago. Seriously she does look so much like you. And I love the concept of her store. Glad Dill is ok. They understand much more than we give them credit for.
September 17th, 2010
Nice shot of you two. Ken or self-timer?
September 17th, 2010
i commented on yesterday's. sorry. glad dill has adjusted well, the wise old soul. your daughter's store looks like someplace i could spend hours in!!! sooooo fun! does she have online??? if so, i'd love the website....christmas is coming..... 98 days or something like that! best wishes..
September 17th, 2010
http://www.green-genes.com/index.html Here's the link to Heather's store; she'd love to hear from you. I'll take a mother's bragging moment and say Chicago Magazine called it one of the Top 10 eco-friendly children's boutiques in Chicago. Google "Green Genes Chicago" and there's a lot of info on the store. Thanks for asking!
September 17th, 2010
Goodness me, you do look like your daughters - both of them! But yesterday I thought that was you too. Its all the travelling and having fun, its keeping you young :-)
Hope its nice to be back home now you've a couple days to get back into it!
September 17th, 2010
Cute picture of you two. I'd be more concerned about how Dill felt if he were a dog. As a cat, he'll simply find some other human slave until you return next summer. :)
September 17th, 2010
Heather's store looks adorable! Ashley's baby will be a lucky boy/girl with an auntie like that! ;-) You two are so cute - I understand why a lot of people were confused! ;-)) Glad to hear you are enjoying your favorite foods while spending some quality time with your daughters - this is always good times! ;-) I am sure Dill misses you already, he is just too proud to show it. Love Brad's comment above! ;-)
September 17th, 2010
there's NO question, she's yours!
September 17th, 2010

September 17th, 2010

September 17th, 2010
Ha ha, this is such a sweet shot! It looks like Hailey Mills & Hailey Mills starring in "The Parent Trap" or something fun like that. Her store looks amazing! Will definitely google it to see if I find anything for my newest nephew. Also, so glad to hear that Dill is adjusting so well (just as you knew he would).
September 17th, 2010
Beautiful photo, Louise and gorgeous daughter (she definitely looks like you!). Hope you're having a splendid time with your girls.
September 17th, 2010
The resemblance is amazing! At least she knows she's still going to be a beautiful lady when she's your age :).
September 17th, 2010
HC
They have stolen car keys :)
September 17th, 2010
Oh my!! Well you two definitely look very similar! You are both beautiful too!

It sounds like you are having a great time there as well. I took my son to a new sushi restaurant today and then I read that a few other friends went for sushi. Must be a sushi kind of day.

So glad to hear that Dill is adjusting well to your leaving.

You know, I never thought my daughter looked like me at all. She has always looked like her father. She had to get a new license picture this year and when she did she wrote something on her facebook about how she was glad that her mom was pretty because her new picture looks just like her LOL.

Have a great evening!

September 18th, 2010
Louise, I meant to say that there was a record with the book - so Himself tells me - Too bad there is not a way to put those records onto cds cheaply & with our a whole recording studio LOL Just think though you will be able to read the stories to your grandchild before too long & he or she will love it just as much as you did ;)
September 18th, 2010
I read you explaining yesterday who was who and then todays and I still got confused because you really do look alike. It must be great for your family to have you back for a while. Time for some Mum time :)
September 18th, 2010
