With only one tiny baby to go around and a lot of family members keen to do the holding, I took a leave of absence Friday to spend the evening with 365 photographer Sue Stephenson http://365project.org/Swazzette/365. She lives only a couple blocks from Ashley & John, so she stopped by for me and we went for dinner nearby where every third business seems to be a choice of restaurants. Over Mexican food and a margarita we chatted non-stop until we suddenly realized we'd forgotten to let Ken know where he was supposed to meet us after dinner! (Whoops!) He bowed out but suggested we stay for coffee and a nightcap. We went for a walk down the street to a favorite Italian restaurant; I *love* this change to city living! This Chicago neighborhood was alive with street life on a Friday night...so different from my suburban neighborhood in California and light years away from the little fishing town of Lunenburg! Sue's an animated story teller and a born entertainer making her great company! We drank little...*talked much*...had a Great Time!
What great fun. I should try to see if we could get some 365 photographers from the Netherlands together at some point. It's not as if we live in a big country where it's hard to reach each other ;-)
It sounds like the two of you had a great time, and you made a wonderful photo to capture the moment.
What a fun photo of the two of you. I love that you each posted your own photo and story:o). How fortunate for you both that you can have a visit when you come to Chicago.
Great photo of you two 365ers.
Isn't this a great site - so many of us finding friendships, sharing our family, thoughts, happy times & our photos.
It's definitely changed my life.
Just wonderful!
I loved Sue's shot of your time together, and I love yours, as well! As someone else mentioned, and I agree, you would win the prize (if there were one!) for meeting the most 365'ers in one year!
Sounds like a wonderful time! I only hope that one of these days you & Ken will make your way out to our neck of the woods in NY and we can meet you as well! Great shot of you two lovely ladies!
Re: your comment - Brady Lake started out as a summer cottage/ resort community, mostly for Cleveland businessmen and their familes who took the train to get here. There was an amusement park, dance hall, gambling, boat rentals, and several hotels as well as a myriad of summer cottages. Now it's all residential, and most of the old cottages have been updated for year-round use. Many newer homes have been built in-between them and on the grounds of the old amusement park, etc. I love seeing photos of the "old days" - they had a GREAT wooden roller-coaster!
How wonderful that you keep meeting and getting to know so many 365ers. I have yet to actually meet up with anyone other than those I already know. Kerri and I almost got together this summer while she and her husband were in Virginia for a wedding but at the last minute I had to bow out...you inspire me though so I think I need to take the initiative to meet up with some of the Virginia group before any more time passes. This is a really nice photo of the 2 of you! Sounds like it was a fun evening and I think "Clark" was wise to allow you two to have the evening to yourselves. I bet he would not have had a chance to get in too many words anyway ;-)
@cglist It sounds like you've made your home in an idyllic community! I've enjoyed your photos through the year. As one who's bought many old photo albums on ebay, I can imagine what fun it would be to see a Brady Lake album from the early years
Oh, my...poor Ken. I can't believe that we forgot all about him once we began to chat over Margheritas. :-)
It WAS a great time, my friend, and I look forward to seeing you again when you come back through our fair city in January. Perhaps we'll remember Ken next time. *sheepish grin*
Good to see you had a lovely fun day, and seems grandmotherhood looks well on you :-)... Thanks for the kind comments on the shutterfly pics... I did comment back, but in case you're short of time, I thank you on behalf of Sangeeta for your lovely words and yep, it was King George VII... Good spot... Oh, I'd completely forgotten to add comments so will correct at some point... Keep well :-)
Wowee! This sounds like my sort of night out! Reading your previous post with flat Allie (LOL) sounds like a fun time is being had over there! Did you all know each other pre 365 (was there ever a time?) or has this developed here? You just look like you are haivng the time of your life Louise, mind you, when are you not?? Enjoy!
GLad you had a great time in one of my favorite cities :)
By the way, Great Big Sea actually started in Newfoundland, but Kris is indeed from Nova Scotia. I did get a chance afterwards to talk with him for almost an hour. We even got to tell the bouncers we were "with the band" to keep from getting kicked out.
Love the story behind this photo Louise and Sue, how wonderful that you could meet and I'm like that "all talk and little drinking."
It would be wonderful to meet a couple of close 'friends' from 365 I would love that.
sounds like a wonderful night! i can certainly understand everybody wanting to hold the baby! :)
i am experiencing the opposite of what you are feeling! coming from all the space of Indiana to the crowded metropolis that is Manila was such a jolt! I felt a little bit claustrophobic because of the buildings and long to live in the woods again.
I am at my parents' at the moment, it is a smaller city so i am better, haha. Having greens all around helps, too (my mom can make *anything* grow and thrive!). Very different from condo living. :)

I would love to meet a fellow 365er in person.
