*Thank you* for the overflow of heart-felt notes so many in this community have left this past week! I'm looking forward to taking and sharing pictures of the new family outdoors one day soon, but for the present, Ashton is attached to a light monitor indoors to alleviate jaundice. It's not uncommon in the first days, we're told, but the snuggling is on hold. I believe I need a great deal more practice on close-up pictures but Ashley gave this one her okay. I certainly have a good reason now to improve my photography!
Awwww....your baby holding her baby! Sweet! The "faces" you will capture with this little sweetheart! And Mommy's face and eyes when she holds him...the best moments in the world!
This is just beautiful! Although this happened for me almost a year ago, I remember it like it was yesterday. You captured such a special moment here. I love it :)
Oh, congrats to all the family!!! This is the first time I am hearing the news...so now I know I need to go back a few days and see what I missed!!! FYI- I am going to be a "Mimi" a 2nd time in March. My son and d-i-l found out last week that #2 is a girl...the first girl in our family in decades! Can't wait to see all the wonderful photos you will be taking in the near future...and I predict more trips to Chicago too!!!
btw, i think i see a little "you" in the baby, my husband always laugh at me when I say "the baby looks like mom or dad", he always say: the baby looks like "a baby" :) but i think he is wrong :))
My daughter was jaundiced for a short while after birth, she was fine and I'm sure Ashton will be too! Lovely mother and child portrait. Best wishes....
my oldest had to spend virtually 24 hours a day under the bili-light when he came home from the hospital. it was excruciating for us when all we wanted to do was hold him, but it didn't last long (and we certainly suffered far worse than he!)
this is a beautiful photo of ashley, just beautiful. and that little expression on ashton's face is darling.
@bcurrie *Thank You* for telling me the name of that thing! In Ashton's case, it's wrapped around his middle and he "glows"! Ashley's taken to calling him, "My little LiteBrite!" I think by Sunday his numbers will be as they should be and there's a line waiting to hold him when he becomes detached!
i'll bet he looks like a glow-worm!! my boys had a stuffed toy when they were babies called a 'glow-worm'. when you squeezed it, it would emit a soft glow. like ashton! (:
playskool still makes them. just an idea...(:
What an awesome photo of little Ashton. He too looks amazed at all the well wishes. Love the expression. This brings back memories of holding our little ones. I cherished those moments as you have already learned, they are so precious. Blessing to all of you.
"I certainly have good reason now to improve my photography" LOL - Louise - you're the perfect photographer for this subject!!!!! He looks like he can't wait to be snuggled by you!
i love this shot...so real and pure... and i adore the look on ashton's face... i can already tell that your upcoming photos are going to add to my baby fever. have several pregnant friends and am feeling the itch for another baby...
Congratulations once again :) You must be so proud, and it's lovely that you're there in person at this time. I bet the new parents really appreciate having you around :)
yes! this is precious. and now you have a captive audience (ashton) so shoot away. can't wait to see many more cute baby photos... congrats again to her. so happy for you all!
Such a beautiful portrait of mother and son! They both appear to be so relaxed and content in their new roles. A perfect capture by a happy grandmother! I know Ashley is so thankful to have you there to help during the adjustment period. Enjoy the moments and the photo opps. So happy for you, Louise!
Can't wait for another photo of Ashton :)
this is a beautiful photo of ashley, just beautiful. and that little expression on ashton's face is darling.
