While I get in a rut around the four square miles that make up the suburb I live in, a short distance away along the coast are some charming islands and beach towns. Balboa is a favorite and it's dressed up for summer holidays. It's fun to feel like I'm on vacation such a short way from home!
@gavincci Balboa Island sits along the Orange County coast about 40 miles south of Los Angeles...it has a nice "resort" feel to the shops, restaurants and homes there.
Lovely day, wish I lived so close to the sea. Thanks for all the comments, the wedding was lovely. Eloise was born just a month before Ashton, she is hurtling around the floor now apparently, just booked a flight to go and see them in three weeks! Enjoy your visit to your girls too.
I saw in the house thread you say its only two weeks until you go off to Nova Scotia agaiin! wow time flies.....I so enjoyed your photos from there last year. Will Dill still be there? and that lovely crafty shop with the decorated fish? I'm looking forward to it already! :-)

That sky looks incredible! I'm glad you explained to Jaydee where it was cuz I didn't know where Balboa was either. And I'm usually fairly decent at my geography!
