If I reach 100, I'd love to look even half this good! That's Margie and her daughter, my good friend, Gil (Gillian). The open house yesterday was a huge success with a turnout to match. Margie was surrounded by her daughter, grand children and two great grand children as well as a niece visiting from South Africa where the family originally hails from.
Early on, as I took photos, Margie told me she didn't want her picture in the newspaper. I won't tell her about 365!
(As a note of interest, Lunenburg County has one of the highest percentages of centurians anywhere. Google it and see! They attribute it, possibly, to a diet rich in fish and walking the many hills around here... It's true that the town is full of many active seniors! Even Margie here still lives in her own home without more than her family's assistance when they come by.)
How great she looks! Happy Birthday to her! Maybe Bob and I should think about moving there - more people live to 100 than anywhere else? What a great record to have...
