By way of explanation, twice a year we have "Dumpster Day", so over the course of a week, people put out everything they want picked up. Behind that facade of "business as usual", it's a big free for all for Dumpster Divers! Even as we emptied the garage, cars began to drive slowly by. By the time I looked over my photos and went out to see if I could picture it better, nearly everything was gone!
@allie912 whoops...I think she wasn't that size when she first wandered into our yard 3 months ago... My daughter saw this picture and made the same comment...
@allie912 That chest was once a $5 auction purchase...In the summer we kept it filled with cushions for the outdoor furniture, bbq equipment & birdseed. The garage roof leaked one winter & its now seen better days...
Is that your Maui? She looks so big in that shot! We do the same thing with unwanted household items...in our urban area things don't stay on the street long at all. One person's 'trash' is definitely an other's treasure. :)
What a wonderful collage.
We have a week about twice a year like this.
Nothing lasts more that an hour or so & then at night - another group come along - definitely a great way to get rid of "stuff".
heheheheheehehe this is fantastic! love how you set it up and that you put time stamps on each shot. I know I've said it before, but I LOVE your neighborhood! so cozy and quaint and the houses are divine. :)
@reba That video was awesome...and to think they caught Dusty in the act! What a *big personality* to be known like that throughout the neighborhood! Gorgeous cat! Thanks for sharing!
I wish we had dumpster days in the uk, we just dig big holes and fill em in with all our unwanted, I'm sure some guys in the future will thank us for stuffing up the planet. Good pics though.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! I *love* the up-for-grabs that show up by our dumpsters. We now have an email ring called Free Cycle and one can list things that they would normally toss that someone else might want ...
