The Best Gifts Come in Small Packages...

...can you find the Diamond that's set in this photo?

Upon entering St John's church to show it to our visiting friends, organ music filled the space and I turned on my video to capture it! I was turning my camera around the room and at the church loft in back, and then, over my shoulder I saw a man with a smile on his face, playing his heart out! (He's framed by the stained glass window.)

If you're of a mind to have a look-and-listen, I posted a video that tells the rest of the heartfelt story. It's only a nugget of information about this man, this church and the town it's all set in.

I'll call this #6 on my Local Wonder challenge: Local Person... He's James Aulenbach whose family arrived here in 1789. A self-proclaimed anomaly, he said he's a Mormon who's sung in Salt Lake City with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. ...wow... What a find, wouldn't you say?!

I must say, I may be old fashion, but I absolutely love organ music. It is something I grew up with and it has always remained a favorite for me. I loved your video, and of course the music of choice.

@digitalrn I'll be sure to let you know when I gather together a video of him playing "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art"... I'm like you, it's the most enveloping and soul-touching music when played in a venue like that!

@bkbinthecity @digitalrn It thrills my heart to have reached some people who love this as I do! I saw James tonight at a symphony concert in that same setting...and tonight the church was filled to overflowing. Can you believe my luck that the front pews were all empty? I can't wait to have time to go through the pictures I took! Thanks for coming by!
