On this last full day on Kauai, I'm trying to tie up some loose ends...wanted to post something before Ross reminds me I'm falling down on the job! We've had some intermittent rain (read:brief, tropical showers) the last couple of days, so I paused to photograph the koi pond before walking to the condo. Monday morning I'm flying to Honolulu to visit an old friend for a few days.
I gather they don't have herons in Kauai? The birds fly into our neighborhood from the nearby SD Zoo's Safari Park. They have had a lot of fish for dinner. Now everyone who has a koi pond has it covered with wire to deter the scavengers.
@aglennc Haven't seen a heron, but I see a lot of egrets; perhaps they're not fishers. They follow riding-lawn-mowers and pick through everything left behind!
@adambralston Paying it forward for the ideas you shared! Actually, that chop signifies "Koi" (amazing what you can Google and find!) You can actually see the fish-tail shape in the image :-)
