On a day filled with some wonderful photo opportunities, this rose to the top for the joyous moment that it was! We went for an early dinner to a seaside, outdoor restaurant that sports an immense "sand pit" filled with toys for the children. The family could enjoy a nice casual dinner as the sun set over the ocean just beside the train tracks. And when the trains came past, the children would run to wave them through! This was the third, a wonderfully long freight train, and as I snapped the first photo, I could see what an interesting backdrop it made, speeding by!
The kids loved it...*I* loved it...Everybody's happy!
Wonderful shot. What is it about trains that fascinate young children, and some adults as well. The blurred background is great .It sounds a lovely day out
Lovely shot , great fun for all . Great shot of you.
In my childhood I use to live near a train station with a train yard . I did love to see all those giant steam locomotives moves around
It's grand to see that the love of trains still exists among today's youngsters. You captured a prime moment of excitement here, and I totally agree that the moving cars created a super backdrop of motion and blur.
Thanks oodles for the visit, comment and fav generously given to my self portrait. You're such a sweetie, Louise. :)
I remember doing this when I was little and, then, trying to teach my son to wave at trains. His ASD disallowed him that joy, however. Just another quirky thing to try to unravel and understand. The simple answer: he just didn't get it!
I am still fascinated by trains, and I would have joined those youngsters at waiving it goodbye every time it went by! Love the blur of the train cars.....it provides such a nice backdrop for this lovely family portrait!

I'm back home finally - sure is nice not to have to bundle up, scrape windshields and worry about chapped lips. The ice themed photos get a rest now.
