Back to the beach again...so conveniently close, it would be a shame not to take advantage! I haven't even finished looking at the day's pictures, but I had to see how this would turn out. I picked it up when I saw the kelp was attached to an empty shell, both sides still attached. I have seen very expensive gold necklaces designed in this fashion with the tendrils of root wrapped around the "stone". It was amazingly beautiful, and I told the grandkids how those bubbles are like "floaties" that keep the kelp upright in the water. I'm hoping to dry it and "do something with it". To my mind, it's too pretty not to showcase somehow...
@redy4et Thanks, Elizabeth. As I was looking for a place to lay it, there was the weathered bench right next to the beach shower... I thought it was the perfect texture as well, including the sand in the cracks!
It reminds me of fairy wings. So beautiful, delicate and magical! I'm sure you will find the perfect spot for it in your new garden/swimming pool area.
Love how the light catches the kelp, and the textures in this. You organise the retreat you were talking about to @salza and you might find me flying across the pond!
