Everyone Loves Michael

Ken and I spent the morning at the Santa Barbara Zoo which was excellent as there were few people there and I got some wonderful photos. This was my favorite for the interaction taking place. For a price, people can feed Michael, and, as you might imagine, he's quite a crowd pleaser. In two years he's also produced three babies, so Michael's doing his share of lovin', too!

In the past, when my grandson steps up to feed Michael, I've gone in close for photos. Today, I stood back behind a gate and zoomed in to capture this photo, and loved the scale of Michael's head beside the little girl! Like Denise, I'm in awe of those exquisite soulful lidded eyes. And likely few of us had any concept of the size of a giraffe's head as we always see them at a distance...if only from below!
