Last week Ken and I were able to visit the home of a friend and see one of the most fascinating eclectic collections of vintage ephemera! ** I was unable to upload the link to the youtube video I made as a thank you note to her, but I think it will work from here. When taking the pictures, I hadn't thought to use them this way. Consequently, not wanting to leave any category out, I added a few that were not well-focused, but every photo had a story!
**See what happened** when I asked to see the drawer with the "Surprises" and she told *me* to open it! Look at how she decorated with valve handles. And don't miss the Gargoyle with sunglasses who wanted to see better! She has a nice collection of items from movie sets as well. Have a look and see what you think!
@kerristephens@kwind Thanks! I couldn't upload the video to 365, so attached it in the caption. The "surprises" kept coming as we toured the house! And Kim, you'll know why I thought of you when I saw the "city-tagged" man-hole covers in her outdoor collection!
What a fabulous video! Love the idea of "a home for the mentally deranged" and so many fabulous items. Each time the view changed I thought, that's it, that's my favourite, and so it went on. A fabulous eclectic mix! Well done to Kim and her museum!
@kwiksilver Oh, Gillian, Thank You! And I'll pass this message to Kim! She has a delightful & creative guest book to go with "the tour", and it asked what was my "favourite thing"...ha! Like you, (and I said this), it would be almost a sin to say I liked one thing better than another! I answered that the creator, artist and designer was my favorite at the center, and now, I know she loved my thank you video to express my appreciation for the tour! Thanks for joining us! ♥
(I LOVED it all, but I totally covet that yellow cat atop the "stuffed-toy machine" ... which BTW, she fills w toys through the year -and I said I'll be donating! - and sets it in front of the house at Halloween & lets the kids operate it to pick out a toy! Awesome, I think!)
