Once again I was inspired by one of our own, in this instance, Guy Snape @guysnape and his selfie http://365project.org/guysnape/365/2016-01-26 I'm also unclear as to what tonal curves will do, so I set out to see what would happen "If"...
Basically I didn't come away with a pencil sketch image, but I converted my photo to B&W, then made it a graphic pen sketch in PS filters and over laid it on the original color photo, and lowered the opacity only enough to let a bit of color come through.
Sometimes "just being inspired by another" is enough to set you on your way! Thanks Guy!
(Having a mini-365 meet-up this afternoon, so wanted to place this while I have free time and will share the afternoon/evening photos later!)
@jack4john@salza Thank you both! I said to Ken this morning that there really is no excuse for not finding something to photograph (of in this case, "play with") everyday! Clearly, "when at a loss", look to others is my current mantra!
Wow! I'm learning things every day from viewing your photos, Louise! Thank you for explaining how you created this image. I'm at such a beginner's level that any and all explanations are appreciated!
I like this photo!! To me it looks like everything has been covered in frost!! All though I didn't understand most of what you said on how you did this, it's fantastic how it turned out. I don't have PS so it's way over my head! FAV!
Nice play. I am always inspired by others. Sometimes when I am out shooting, I think or that looks a little like the one I saw on 365 let me try to capture it. If we explore our pictures don't become so repetitive.
A beautiful effect a fav btw thank you for taking the time to look at my frosty pic. and your recent comments. I always think of you being special as you were my 1st follower Helen my eldest daughter introduced me to 365 then Jane my youngest daughter who is visiting her brother Richard and family in Thailand
Louise your link is not working, I think due to the full stop at the end.
