May We Offer You a Tangerine? by Weezilou

May We Offer You a Tangerine?

...or two...
...or 20?!

Dylan shows off one of the current crop...14.2 oz or 402 grams!!! The tree is loaded again with next year's crop. On a good year the tree will look orange from across the yard.

This year we only had a minimal tangerine crop...but they had *HUGE* down pat!

(So happy to have my grandsons visiting again through the weekend! This little guy is having his 3rd birthday in two weeks!)
Sweet and happy boy! Impressive tangerine! Are they edible? We need to eat at least 4 italian tangerines to make one of yours!

I hope you have a good recipe for freezing these!

@frappa77 Thank you for the nice comment, Francesca! The tangerines are *delicious*! We have so many, we make juice most of the time. We would give them away, but around here, most people have their own fruit trees. Here's a picture from my earliest days on 365 http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-02-18

@maggiemae Sadly, Maggiemae, they don't freeze well...not the juice anyway. I freeze lemon and lime juice in cubes, and save some grated rind for baking. I have other trees (guava freezes beautifully) but not citrus. Sad, isn't it?!

Super! That juice looks so inviting! 😁

Wow, that is amazing. They are huge!

@maggiemae After I'd said they don't freeze well, I decided to look it up on line...found some good information! You may have set me on a better course! Thanks!

Dylan is so gorgeous - such a lovely smile!! I love it when they are still willing to pose naturally for you!! Wow what a tangerine!! I have never seen one that size before. How lucky to have these growing in your yard giving you fresh juice!!

Very cute, and the tangerines look great.

@chard But your cranes are three times larger than my ducks!

We can't have *everything*!

Great shot of the cute looking boy. I`ve to Google Tangerine , they say it`s an orange . I know oranges but I`ve never seen a big one like this.

Love the expression on your little imp! He looks all boy, right down to the grubby fingernails! (and that is not a criticism!) It is so interesting to look at the beginnings of the fruit. At first glance, they look like acorns!

Adorable shot of your grandson! HOLY COW! That tangerine certainly is HUGE! :-) Great collage!

What a cutie!! Oh to have had one of our three tangerine trees make it... None did. I miss the prolific one we had in our yard on San Diego. Love tangerines.

Holey Moley, that's one heck of a tangerine!! Yummo.

that is huge and the look on Dylan's face is priceless. We have Californian oranges over here when ours are out of season

Your grandson is adorable - and good for you for having such wonderful trees in your yard! There is nothing like growing your own food!

Aw, looks like he has already mastered the art of enjoying tangerines!

What a fantastic size of tangerine. He is one lucky grandson. I like the contrast between then and now tangerinewise
