Our friend, John, headed up the Kitchen parties all summer and wanted to have a last gathering of those who continuously supported it. As I had the room for two sit-down dinner tables, we opted to hold it here and I asked if I could make it a Thanksgiving dinner (a day early) What FUN we had!!! I told them that the group photo was a tradition, and there we all are, before sitting down to turkey and all the trimmings, which everyone pitched in and brought! Those pies to the left were only two of the three, plus several more desserts (a salad and a few vegetables!)
Our friends here will be very hard to leave behind when we head west, but for 15 years now, we've continued to pick up where we left off and so it will be again!
Thankful? We couldn't be more so. We're all truly blessed!
How lovely to see all those happy faces and lots of them I recognise from lovely dinner parties held when I was there. Wonderful food and even better company - what more could you ask for? Wish I had been there to celebrate with you!! Lovely capture!! Fav!
Such a fabulous group of people you have there Louise, it looks like a great time and as I see Ken has the guest of honour in his hands. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Ken. xox
What a great event to have helped host! I love how happy everyone looks in the shot. I can imagine how you would create a traditional Canadian American Thanksgiving!
@taffy Call me "crazy"...only a week before we take off! But what a good time everyone had! I've got every minute scheduled as we head to the finish line, so here I sit at 2 AM trying to catch up a little! I hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
@Weezilou A perfect day - quiet with Bill, Junko, Jim and me having an outstanding (but non-traditional) dinner of prime rib and trimmings. Totally relaxing, watching movies and binge watching The Crown on Netflix. Not the way everyone would want to celebrate, but we had a perfect day!
@taffy Wonderful! After traipsing 'round the world, I'd say a day like that was long overdue with friends and family! And the prime rib...YES! Can't wait for that, our traditional Christmas dinner! And I'll need about 30 of those relaxing days to set me back on my feet again! Of course it's highly unlikely to happen! Heading to bed shortly. This is a huge Christmas-festivities weekend up here in all the little towns! It's freezing cold, but no snow (yet!)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! And to add to what @Taffy said, we did also have a 40 minute power walk so we wouldn't be entirely slugs all day.
@jyokota ...haha...glad someone was up for that! Does "laughing 'til your sides hurt" count as exercise? By midnight, we fell into bed in a tryptophan stupor!
@skipt07 I thought about that as I was setting this all up! I don't want to think what was going through their minds! I did feed them well afterward, however!
