The weekend was "Princess Weekend" at the Santa Barbara Zoo, so initially I gave no thought to taking the boys! Before bed I was reading the Zoo News Magazine and it said that the boys could come as knights, pirates or cowboys (etc), so I thought, "Let's Do It!"
It didn't take Dylan but a moment to know what he wanted to wear! Last year, in Hawaii, the family had gone to luau, and he's still fixated on "The Fire Spinners"! He garnered a lot of comments and attention amidst the many pirates! When we got to the gorillas, they were napping at a distance from the windows, but I thought that, though not Hawaiian, this also had a nice vibe. I said to Ken that maybe he'd meet a Tongan Princess...
The day at the zoo was fabulous with wonderful activities...everything a delight! I was most amazed that every little girl seems to own a Princess Dress! and yes, they were all adorable!
Gorgeous Dylan! So clever of him to remember his fire spinners outfit! So much cooler than a cowboy or knight! A wonderful capture of him looking so happy! Sounds like a brilliant day at the zoo with even more photo opportunities than usual! Fav!
@pamknowler It really was an incredible day! We heard that Saturday, with all the little princesses, the place literally was a zoo! (Ok, I'm going to be tripping over the semantics of it all!) ANyway, Sunday we arrived for early let-in with other members, and the numbers never looked unmanageable. Ashley said they'd never stayed all day, as we did! There was so much to see and do...the kids activities were adorable, and even there, lots of photo ops! It was just overall a really really good day!
@pamknowler I'm semi-sorta seriously thinking about not posting now for a few days and making birthday books for Bodhi (on the 18th...think I'm running late???) and Dylan, next month on the 21st... If I post and get comments, I feel guilty if I can't make it back around to everyone...which I also really want to do! I may need a brief hiatus!
@Weezilou I think you will need to take some time to get the boys books together - it all takes time and you can't do everything! I will email you to keep in touch. I am wondering how many pics you took just this last week? You have lots of processing to do! All those flowers and animals and of course your gorgeous grandchildren! Busy busy! Lol!
@golftragic Thanks, Marnie! I'm sifting through all my zoo photos and saw your notes come in. I think I have the cover for Dylan's Zoo Book...whatcha think? He had a wonderful day and saw no reason to think his wasn't the most wonderful costume there! ...having fun sorting animals to pick from, but needed a short break to chat with someone... Thanks for the moment!
Lovely photo. What an adorable child! What a smile. As a father of three girls, I can tell that he is going to have to beat them off with a stick someday. Reading your narrative brought back so many memories associated with that age and in those places when my kids were little. Thanks for sharing.
( Love the first old movie the best)
