I was so happy to see the tree Mike posted with the suggestion to use it in our own art piece. Mixed Media and Collage was my first love, so it simplifies everything that I can piece it together now without scissors, glue and bits of paper floating everywhere!
The sky is from Photomorphis, as is my final post processing of the finished image, but all the elements are from photos I've taken, all over time in Nova Scotia.
With no more pre-planning than the tree and the backdrop of clouds, I began to see I was building two compositions that were divided down the center. I worked to close that gap, but the painting, "Paris Street; Rainy Day" (French Rue de Paris, temps de pluie) by the French artist Gustave Caillebotte (1848–1894) came to mind.
I loved making this and may set out to do another!
Another Wow! I am loving all the component parts of the image and I see some familiar scenes here! You are so creative Louise definitely out of my league! Huge fav!
wonderful. And very inspiring. This is what I think there could be no better way to spend a cold winter's day (even if it's not cold in your neck of the woods)
This has taken a lot of thought and a lot of work! I need to look at it more - having visited Nova Scotia and not actually seen everything but loved it all!
@farmreporter Thank you, Wendy! And thank you, Mike @mikegifford I've never taken part in anything on 365 that pitted my work against others! Being selected and your kind comment, Wendy, is certainly satisfaction enough! I'm most appreciative : )
Congratulations, Louise. (I just discovered that if one omits to type the “i” in your name it changes the time of the message completely!). That is quite an impressive creation. I’m not surprised that you won. Well deserved. Fav
You are a great story teller!
