The humble lobster trap, a ubiquitous sight along the shores around Nova Scotia. In order not to over-fish the waters, lobster season rotates around the Province through the year. Only reflective of the prices we've paid for this meal through the years, I've seen it as a Market Price entrée in So California for $70 (just the tail!). Up here, I've seen it as low as $5/lb for the whole lobster. I'm quoting prices from years past, but I'm sure they're still reflective of the disparity! We've had some delicious lobster dinners through the years up here, and I remember the company around the table while enjoying almost every one of them!
Great image of the lobster traps! I have such a wonderful memory of a lobster dinner at your friend Mike’s house. He broiled the lobsters in the garden and then we each had a whole lobster and they were huge! Newspaper on the dining table to catch the drips of hot melted butter which we dipped the lobster into. Of course I needed Ken’s help to crack the lobster shells! What a feast that was and a wonderful memory of fun around the table!
@pamknowler Yep! The first lobster dinner in good company that comes to mind is that one! What a treat it was, and, for us, watching how much you enjoyed it was half the pleasure!!! Good times!!!
