Well, I was all set to wander along this evening to take a nice, wide-angle photograph of the Digital Orca sculpture, with the city lights behind. And what do I find when I get there? It's cordoned off for a private function (of which there was no sign).
I'm a British software developer and photographer living in Vancouver, BC. I mainly photograph landscapes, cityscapes, night scenes, and water.
If you're interested in any...
Good exposure on this shot. I particularly like the yellow and the blue of the sky. They dominate the picture and go well together. I find the lego whale thing a bit distracting though.
in the thumbnail, I actually thought you had captured an orca jumping out of the water in the background! It does look like a lego sculpture. I like the shot, even if it isn't what you were hoping for
@abirkill : LOL, it's all relative, I guess. The convention centre at Canada Place has been around since Expo 86, but the other one is only two years old as it was built for the 2010 Olympics. I still do a double take when I see it sometimes, it used to be nothing but crummy old parking lots and some old docks! Definitely an improvement. :)

Love all the lines in this - but I especially like the sparkly orca. :)
@reva Yes, although it's funny to me to hear you call it new -- to me, it's always been there!
@jsw0109 Thanks Jeff!
