Looking east from Coal Harbour marina towards the Convention Centre and Canada Place.
One of those shots I'm not particularly pleased with -- I'm not sure if it's the composition or the totally flat sky, but it just doesn't seem to convey the feel of actually standing there.

i dunno... my first thought was how much i liked the composition! i like the novelty of the line leading the eye in... i think the railing makes the image feel a bit more immediate / frenetic than peaceful because as a viewer, i'm not at a distance from the main subject anymore? also, i think it it were my shot, i would fear that the line and the flare on the right would confuse the eye a bit and take it away from the lovely reflections on the left... but it doesn't seem to disturb my eye at all... i get drawn in to look at the buildings and then aonder over to that spectacular light and reflection... so i think it works just fine :)
You are right about what it feels like to be there! I remember standing there and enjoying that view-- I am very, vary happy to be reminded! Gorgeous :)
I agree with @northy - spent time trying to understand exactly why you don't like it, but I just DO! I really love the soft lights reflected in the water. . .
