Wow, it was a scorcher today in Vancouver -- at least compared to recently. A completely cloudless day with highs of 28 degrees was a stark contrast to the end of last week, when it was barely half as warm.
The lack of clouds made for a fairly ordinary sunset, so (after checking for inconveniently-moored cargo ships), I headed back to North Vancouver to get the shot I'd hoped to get a few days ago.
The clear sky made for a very blue 'blue hour' photo, which contrasted nicely with the sodium lighting under this gazebo in Waterfront Park. The water in the harbour is very rarely smooth enough to get perfect reflections, but the relative calm made for some nice scattering of the lights of downtown Vancouver.
This was originally a 6 photo panorama, although I cropped it down to about 3.5 photos in the end.
This also has the dubious honour of being the only photo I took this month that didn't use my super-wide 16-35mm lens. I'm surprised I remembered how to take it off!

Beautiful, beautiful! Have your photos been used by the city in their advertising? Oh I'll swop your 28 degrees for our 40+, it was no idle comment when someone called the south sweltering!
I do remember this scene when we stayed in Vancouver in 2006! We thought it would be the best place to live outside of ours! This particular shot is tremendous particularly because it is Vancouver! fav
