Your subject should be facing the frame, walking into the frame, this keeps your subject "in" the frame and engaging with it. Give your subject room to move.
This is the best illustration of meeting the challenge I have seen yet. I cant help but be thinking about where you were when you took this - hopefully not rolling around on the floor of the train! He has such a stern and focussed look on his face, and is heading straight for you. Perfect.
