Cactus in bloom

You can tell when we've had a wet spring because the cactus bloom. Going through Sioux County this afternoon one pasture was filled with the waxy yellow blooms, and I made sure to stop on my way home to enjoy their prickly beauty.
So gorgeous! I've never seen a cactus blossom before. I never would've imagined that it was so delicate. Beautiful image!

@libertylady Thank you! These cacti are located in southeastern Sioux County just north of Scottsbluff in the Panhandle of Nebraska. This area has a lot of cacti, sagebrush, and yucca, which is also currently in full bloom. The yucca are next on my list for a photo shoot.

@paul2782 Thank you. I love the stiff, waxy texture of the petals on the cacti blooms. There was a strong wind blowing which made it hard for me to keep my balance, but the blossoms didn't wave a bit.
