Not sure what this fellow is, but he's not visiting this flower for the pollen. I thought he looked rather harmless until I took a closer look at his front legs. Yikes! Since eldest likes insects, I thought this one made a nice addition.
Oh dear...looked him up. The Field Guide says it is a Jagged Ambush Bug, which is quite adept at killing bees. Rather like the bees...might go move this fellow to a less populated hunting ground. I am not seeing many bees on the morning glories...
