Today's local wonders challenge was to photograph a local historical landmark. This is an historical marker describing the Sidney Black Hills stagecoach trail. While the Oregon Trail runs about fifty miles south of us, it was not the only stagecoach trail that crossed the Nebraska prairie. The Sidney Black Hills Trail ran through the lands of the Sioux and Crow Indians, and supplied the local Fort as well as the gold mining camps in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
