This large jumping spider was guarding the gate latch as I was leaving our family's 4th of July picnic. I rushed for my macro lens thinking it would beat a hasty retreat, but it was determined to stay put, though it led me on a merry chase around and around the bar. Even after I had swung the gate open and reclosed it this tenacious little spider stayed put. Not sure what the attraction to the metal was, but it seemed to be home.
