Eldest wanted to see the Needles and Sylvan Lake after leaving Mount Rushmore. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful scenery and drive. I, however, had my heart set on getting a bison photo. So we headed back to lower elevations where we found this bison herd, along with wild turkeys, deer with fawns, and the prairie dog towns filled with whistles and chirps. I may have missed taking my children here during their childhood, but I'm hoping we can take time together to visit this beautiful area during the coming years....
I arrive here expecting a macro/ up-close shot after what you shared with me yesterday about the similarities of our landscape and shared challenge of finding an interesting pic some days... but Wow! — this is no macro! This is an awesome picture of the impressive beasts that likely use to roam our backyards. (I don't think a macro would be a wise thing to even think about attempting with these guys. :) Imagine you're having a riot with all the different photography material.
@lyndemc hehe...There are many days I force myself not to bring my macro lens along just so I look up and out instead of down. It's good I did as the roads are so narrow and twisting and full of motorcyclists from the Sturgis Rally that I couldn't stop for any of the wildflower I saw along the way.
