aurora

Occasionally we get to see auroras, so when I saw there was a geomagnetic storm I checked to the north to see if it was bright. There was enough light to rush outside and see what I could get. These weren't the dancing lights we've sometimes had, but it was a steady glow for about an hour. In the upper left you see the Big Dipper, and just above the pink toward the right is Cassiopeia. Wish the cloud bank hadn't been on the horizon, but I was happy I got to see even this much.
Wonderful. If you ever get the chance to go to Norway, Finland or Sweden, the chances of seeing aurorae is vastly increased.
