The local veteran's cemetery held Spirit of '45 ceremonies today. My father had planned to attend, but was to tired to make the trip. The ceremony honored all veterans, but paid particular attention to those from WWII. I was surprised at how many WWII veterans were in attendance, and some of the stories spoke of amazing dedication and bravery.
beautiful capture and tribute to them. Very special men and women. I am sure your dad was happy to see the photos you took. That is the other side of this, many of the servicemen and women from WWII are gone or too fragile health wise to get to these ceremonies. God bless all our veterans.
Joyce @thistle I took this image of people doing what people do, but it's before the beginning of the challenge and it isn't b&w. I had the b&w portrait of the speaker too, but it was also before the challenge. I might fail this challenge. I don't get around many people during the week, and didn't have many opportunities. There's still tomorrow though so we'll see if I can put something together.
I think this is a great and very moving shot April. It is very suitable for the challenge and don't worry that you are short of time. I struggled with the time to go and photograph a local weir which would have been much more suitable for your challenge to me. That's why I ended up with the feeble flow of water I used!.
