Poor youngest. She is used to a daily photo, but here are more of the balloons. She will have to think of them as a series, like with cats or flowers. I learned it is customary for one balloon to carry the American flag aloft at the beginning of the launches. I think this balloon surprised everyone when it launched, so there was a very hurried rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" as it quickly drifted out of sight.
Love how you captured the three balloons for such a great composition! Sorry you had a rough time with your balloon festival, but hopefully you still had a good time. You did come away with great shots! I'm already looking forward to next year for ours again...what a great experience it was.
Very cool tradition- I was at a balloon festival in May and took some shots of a balloon carrying the flag but did not know about the tradition. Good shot!
