poinsettia

My parent's home has a beautiful old bay window that gets wonderful south sun all year round. Here she puts the tired plants of the season and here they flourish. I do not know how old this poinsettia is, but it and a few other left overs set new red for her every year. I was surprised to see these tiny new leaves getting ready for yet another Christmas season.
Lovely colours and selective focus.

She must have the nack of getting the light right! I can keep them alive but can't get the red to appear the next time.

Well framed with the red leaves to bring our eye into the center. And we did walk the bridge during the day, but I want to go back with Jane on Monday @jgpittenger after the lights come up. I tried getting it late afternoon but wasn't satisfied with the results -- it's such an amazing bridge!

@taffy If you don't mind being down on the water, there are great photographic spots on the dock walkway by the OMSI submarine. When I was there in October a big barge ruined that view point, but I believe from what I've seen it's moved on.

Gorgeous macro. It's so wonderful to see a poinsettia flower again, especially year after year.

Incredible clarity here. I wish I knew the secret to getting the leaves to be red again the next season. Your mom has a magic touch!
