Youngest son lives just a few miles down the road and when he's gone I feed his pets. The fox den is on his entrance road, and mom with a few kits were out when we started down the drive. Of course, I had left the camera at home, so I quickly went back for it. She was still out, taking in the quiet of the evening. She really is quite tolerant of stopped vehicles. I think maybe she even posed for the camera!
@jackies365 The improvements at the end of the drive stood empty for several years and a pair of foxes took up residence. When we remodeled the house for youngest son the foxes often enjoyed the rising and setting sun on the deck we added. They took over this old prairie dog/burrowing owl den which runs through the pasture just to the south of the house and is surrounded by fields and windbreaks which make for great hunting. I think they claim priority in residency, though they do get nervous if you linger too long in their vicinity.
We're paired again for get-pushed. Your last response was excellent (motion). I know you are in the country -- but can you do something interesting with an architectural feature that might normally escape the eye? Let me know if that works.
