We put up the Christmas lights last week during the last of the warm weather. The house looks quite cheerful, but youngest thought the garage looked dark and neglected, so we bought one of the projector lights that are becoming so popular. We stayed away from the laser lights, and went with a small multi-colored LED projector. The soft dancing lights do light up the garage and add the finishing touch to the outdoor lights.
@gamelee@s4sayer Thank you...I know it's terribly early, but we dropped from a high of 76 F to a low of 9 F in the space of two days. I just can't put out lights in cold weather. I've hesitated turning them on, but they are so cheerful with the lengthening hours of darkness. My nearest neighbors are two miles away, so the cats and I (and now youngest) are the only ones about to notice.
@s4sayer@gamelee Holiday traditions across the world are so interesting. I'm curious. Why the 12 days? I don't put up a tree until about a week before, but that's because of December birthdays and because I like to leave a tree up until Epiphany. Besides, my children always enjoyed observing Advent with the wreath and calendars as much, if not more, than the tree.
Like Lee, our Christmas decorations wom't see the light of day any sooner than a week before the event...at least.
