I am so curious - how do you photograph snowflakes? I've seen several on here before, and wondered what type of lens one might use to do that! Love the picture - thanks for sharing!
@lilacphotography For snowflakes it needs to be cold enough for them to hold their shape and you need something dark and cold for them to fall on. I just put out a knit hat. Then you need a macro lens of some sort. For this one I used extension tubes on my 50mm lens. Because it was late in the afternoon and quite overcast, I had a ring light attached to the lens, but I've usually just used natural light if it's a brighter day. These flakes were tiny ... It really works better with bigger flakes, but there were a few nice shapes this evening.
