great horned owl

Visited my parents today. As we were leaving the blackbirds were raising a fuss in an old tree on the edge of town. They were objecting to the presence of this fellow. He wasn't pleased with the ruckus, but it was so hot he just didn't want to move. Not sure why he wasn't seeking shade, but he did blend in amid these old, dead branches.
Wow, stunning capture - fav!

Great horned owls are seriously deadly predators no wonder the Blackbirds were shouting. Very nicely captured.
