Wendy challenged me to try a low key image this week. I looked at how to do low key with natural light, and it said to find something well lit with deep shadows behind, then under-expose by 2 stops. I've been trying to photograph this white columbine for a few weeks now, so this evening I went out and chose a bloom which was lit by the setting sun while the rest of the plant was shaded. Not exactly what I think of when I think low key, but close?
That Wendy is a talented person. You have chosen well. I am better at editing than taking unique pictures. This has turned out so well. I may have to try it some time.
