Stephomy challenged me to compose an interesting shot with the camera faced straight up. After much deliberation, I wandered out into a blooming sunflower field where I spent about an hour trying to compose a shot facing up that got something more than leaves and sky. Finally got a few shots I think work. Had to take them blind, as I held the camera against the stalk, pointing straight up. Much harder than I anticipated! Edited in Lightroom, Color Efex, and then added a texture in Topaz to give it a little extra punch.
Stephomy @stephomy .... Here's my composition with the camera facing straight up. That's harder than I anticipated, but I loved wandering around the sunflower field!
Great choice of subject for the challenge, shooting straight up really gives a sense of the height of the sunflower. It looks like it's celebrating the sunshine too.
love it
