My challenge this week is droplet photography. I tried some outdoors droplets, using my handy little spray bottle (water with a drop of two of glycerin), but they just didn't work. I decided to try some droplets on my orchid. I used a very small syringe and needle to place the droplet. Though I love a shallow DoF, I had an instructor once who insisted my macros would be better if I used a higher f-stop. After trying his suggestions I believe I've decided there is merit to both preferences.
Alanna @alannascanlon Another droplet image. I love doing macros, and I haven't been playing with them much this winter. It was nice to rediscover that joy. Thank you for the challenge.
@alannascanlon This was a great challenge! I struggle with planning images, and mostly take advantage of whatever catches my fancy in the moment. It's always a challenge for me to plan a shot. It's also been quite awhile since I played with droplets. I had to dig up some old techniques after my initial fails. Macros are one of my first loves, so it was great spending time with my macro lens again. Overall a good exercise and very engaging challenge.
