geode

Today we took my 94 year old mother to the annual Rock Swap. Tables and tables of sooooo many rocks. It was hot and sunny, but she wandered around with me while I looked for geodes to take home to the grandkids. We found some just as we were leaving and I bought 10. Most were unimpressive once broken open, but a few had some nice crystals.

Oh my goodness, im a rock geek, would love a rock swap ( but which of my lovely pebbles to take?!) I'd love to crack open a rock and find crystals. Fab macto

I think I found and broke open every geode on the land my dad and uncle owned and farmed (second job for both of them). I didn’t care about identifying and classifying — I just loved “pretty rocks” — still do.
