I started following Simon Booth on YouTube a month or so ago. He does wonderful nature macro work. One of my favorites was a photo of green moss and dried leaves. The contrasting edge had caught his eye. So, I looked for contrasting edges, and found the scalloped edge of a submerged cottonwood leaf against the fresh green of a water plant. I tried for a sharper focus than I usually use in macros, and was pleasantly surprised when I had a proper look to see the star bursts in the water. Serendipity!
