Took mom for a ride this afternoon. I've seen so few butterflies this summer that when one is spotted I stop. Thankfully it was along a not too traveled gravel road, and mom is patient with my photo stops. The golden rod is in full bloom, attracting lots of insects The little red beetles weren't fond of the monarch and persisted in trying to chase it away. So glad to see a monarch though. They are few and far between this year.
