Yellow headed blackbird by aecasey

Yellow headed blackbird

The blackbirds are particularly vocal today and the yard is filled with their spring song. Looking out the window I notice that the redwings aren't the only ones singing the chorus. There are a group of yellow headed blackbirds that have arrived and are joining the others in the backyard. Though not quite as camera shy as the redwings, I still had a difficult time getting very close. Still, his distinctive yellow is easy to spot.
Lovely shot! :)

What a lovely bird. You have such a lot that I have never heard of. Good shot.

Beautiful bird but I really am fascinated with the bokeh behind.

@fullcircle Thank you. The bokeh is just sky and tree branches. My sister gave me a Rebel T3i for my birthday and it has a "creative auto" setting that sets a background blur. Haven't quite learned how to use it yet, but I like what it does.

@dandolo You, too, have a very different variety of birds. Your's are so much more colorful! I love seeing all the beautiful little birds that visit your yard.
