This is sooooo extremely cropped and still it's far away. We saw this white bird flying, and I took chase. It settled on this post waaaayyyy down the line and stayed there. Private property, and though I really wanted to hike in as I think I know the owner, I just tried to get a photo from the road. It looks like a red-tailed hawk, but it is completely white. I've seen a white hawk before, though closer to the Niobrara. This one is much closer to White River just outside of town. I do wish I could find it and get a closer shot, but, for now, at least it's documented.
