Okay, so I'm actually reasonably happy with this shot for a change. For one, cuz we've never had these particular hummingbirds at our house before a few days ago and still we're lucky to spot them at all. Two, this Rufous is active in a tree which is way cooler than just sitting there at our feeder(!) Three, I'm thrilled to actually get a shot of it at all, let alone a fairly sharp one! And four, it was getting dark outside so I was trying out a flash extender just to see how it would perform. Not normally a fan of flash, but I hafta say it sure helped out with this capture!
