Monarch by aikiuser

Monarch

We live about a mile away from a grove of eucalyptus trees which is home to thousands upon thousands of monarchs during their annual migration. It's truly a sight to behold! One year they stopped in my back yard for a few days and I couldn't see the leaves in the trees for all the butterflies--it was positively magical! This shot was taken last year, but they're back now so hope to stop by this weekend if it doesn't rain too hard.

Happy Hanukkah to all those celebrating!

ps, i've spent all day today at the zoo, so will have megaloads of photos to post when i get home, or maybe in the morning haha, i certainly have a few days to fill in this week hehe ;)

Love the desat tones and square crop. Much more interesting than a typical "here's a pretty butterfly" pic.
